TUSAL - a new year, a fresh jar

Here is my completed 2009 TUSAL jar. s you can see, it's pretty full. The lovely pink and white threads at the top of the jar are from the sleeves of my Angel of Grace. and here is my empty jar, ready to start the 2010 TUSAL.
I'm using the same 3 litre jar as I used last year. The plastic bag next to the jar holds all my 2009 stitching waste. It weighs a little over 300 grams - about 10 ounces, I was considering some use for my TUSAL jar contents, but finally decided not to hang onto it. So, it's final trip will be into my garbage can tomorrow morning.

  1. Aw, all that work and it's heading to the garbage can. LOL...I was thinking that's where mine will be heading too when it gets full. Then again, I like the idea of converting it into ornaments. I was even thinking what an inexpensive idea for Christmas presents this year! Hmmmm...

  2. Don't they look so beautiful all mixed up together. I emptied mine too and decided to throw it away also.

  3. I did toy with the idea of ornaments - also a friend offered to convert the threads into a free-form embroidery, but in the end I decided not to indulge my tendency to hoard. It's in the bin now, buried under a lawn full of grass clippings. That's life!

  4. I thought I would use mine in a hand made paper project but will probably stuff a pincushion with it. They do look lovely all mixed up together. The compost recycle bin is another option. Mmmm, can't decide.
