I'm happy - I have finished the third page of Christmas Dreams, and made a start on the fourth - which will take me to the middle of the first row of charts (because I am stitching sideways, there are 6 pages of chart across, and 11 pages down).
Christmas Dreams (HAED, Gelsinger/Sayetta)
I was never used to marking off stitched symbols until I started stitching HAED charts. Through trial and error, and much frustration stitching my first HAED, I found it suited me best to mark off the stitched symbols using a lead pencil. Unfortunately, I kept losing the pencils and was spending valuable stitching time trying to fins them or to replace them. Then I came up with the idea of taping a pencil-holder to my floor-frame. It worked so well I found another container to use for my scissors. Winner!
Beautiful stitching and great invention
ReplyDeleteLooking really good and a fabulous idea for your pencil and scissors.
ReplyDeleteYour HAED is looking absolutely beautiful. I love that chart. I never realized how time consuming these types of cross-stitch would be until I started a similar type myself. I have been working on one for my son for over a year and a half. I like your 2020 estimate in your side bar. Great idea for the pencil and scissors. I have one chart that I am highlighting, but I find that my stitches are too confetti-like to do so on my current chart. Maybe pencil marking is the answer. Enjoy your stitching.
ReplyDeleteYour progress is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou are making great progress on this and such a good idea to have a little pencil pot on your frame.
ReplyDeleteI have to attach the pen to my stitching diary or it gets "borrowed" by certain other family members!
I've never seen a project stitched sideways before! I suppose it's not confusing once you get used to it? Love the idea for your pencil holder. I always find my scissors and highlighters disappear between the settee cushions! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper progress. What a great pencil holder, my pencils get borrowed by family members who deny they have had them!
