Come visit with me as I stitch and craft my way from one Christmas to the next - I like to have Christmas projects close by me all year. I have a particular fondness for Santas and Angels. If you have the time, leave a comment so I know you've visited.

My first Christmas ornaments for 2013

They're not finished up yet, but here's what I have stitched:

I just finished stitching this Santa a few minutes ago.  I still have the names and borders to stitch.  This Santa is from ASN booklet by Sam Hawkins - 50 Santas to Cross Stitch (1993).
The teddy is Dale Burdett's Santa Teddy, and the crescent Santa is a Donna Kooler design (from 555 Christmas Cross Stitch designs, 1999).
and another Santa Teddy - this one is for an in'law who gave me the Santa salt and pepper set from her Christmas Day table setting this past Christmas.  She's a teddy collector.
I'm hoping to have these four finished into ornaments by the end of January,

I enjoy looking at your blog, to see what ornaments you are making :-)

I have been making some ornaments with the info you kindly passed onto me.

May I ask what the reason is, that you have put the little markings around the outer edge of the backstitching line. Just curious as to why you do this.

Thanks :-)

Juliaoz, the little side stitches into the seam allowance are just for counting. I make one every 10 stitches when I'm backstitching a longish border. It makes it much easier to count the stitches in the border. It doesn't show at all in the finished ornament.
